The Plenty Thirst Festival

The ‘Plenty Thirst’ Wedmore Real Ale Festival

We’re back and we would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new committee members, Jo Blackburn, Matt Lloyd and James Loughrey. They have all volunteered to join the existing team and help put on our annual ale festival.

For everyone new to the area, we organise and run an annual ale festival in September, where we hope to educate you on real ale, give you a great, local event to enjoy and raise some money for local worthy causes.

In the last 20 years we have been able to donate an incredible £226,320 to local worthy causes!! This would not have been possible without you our sponsors, so a huge thank you again for their ongoing support.

The festival will be held on Friday 9th – Sunday 11th September and we will be returning to the glorious and highly popular Glebe Field, Manor Lane, Wedmore, BS28 4EQ.

This year, we will again be looking to have over 100 barrels of ale and cider, for you to try, as well as a selection of craft beers and the local Gin Jar bar.

Food will also be provided throughout the festival and we will confirm this year’s selection nearer to the festival.

We can confirm that this year’s live, headline music will be provided by one of our popular local bands, One For The Road, who will be performing on Friday evening. In keeping with this year’s jubilee theme, Queen Rocks will be belting out hit after hit for us all to get up and dance to on Saturday evening. So, as this year’s theme will be The Unofficial Queen’s Jubilee, your fancy dress options are Queen, the Royal Family or anything Jubilee!

Our sponsor packs have already gone out to our existing sponsors but if you would be interested in supporting the festival by sponsoring a barrel of beer or cider, or anything else on offer, then Sarah Love would be delighted to hear from you. Just email

sponsors@wedmorerealale.co.uk with your details and Sarah will be in touch.

We will also be appealing for prizes and lots for the Sunday afternoon’s raffle and auction. If you have an item / service / promise that you wish to donate, please contact Matt Lloyd on

wraf@wedmorerealale.co.uk. Our raffle and auction is always a great fundraiser, so your contributions will make a real difference to local worthy causes.

If you would like to volunteer during the build, running or take down of the festival, then please contact Sam Brown on wraf@wedmorerealale.co.uk. Helping at such a social event is always popular and really doesn’t feel like work at all.

You can pre-order your 2022 Polo and T-Shirts, or a festival hoodie. Please visit our online store – https://wedmorerealale.co.uk/shop/
