Wedmore Real Ale Festival (WRAF) celebrated the outcome of another successful year of charitable ale drinking on Saturday night, at their annual presentation evening. Volunteers, festival committee members and beneficiaries gathered to celebrate the
achievements and dish out the cheques.
This year £20,820 was raised, bringing the total over the 24 years the festival has been running to an outstanding £300,640, all donated to local worthy causes.
The 2025 beneficiaries are: Children’s Hospice South West, Wedmore Friends of Weston Hospice Care, Somewhere House Somerset, Headway Somerset, Somerset Prostate Group, Wedmore Village Farm, 1st Wedmore Scout Group, Wedmore Men’s Shed, Wedmore in Bloom, Green Wedmore, The Samaritans of Weston-Super-Mare, Prickles Hedgehog Rescue, Blackford Village Hall, Wedmore Footpaths, Wedmore Village Hall, St Mary’s Church Bell Ringers, Wedmore Tuesday Club, The 3 C’s, Wedmore Opera and 1st Wedmore Brownies.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed towards this year’s success. Having officially drawn a close to this year’s festival, it is an honour for the festival organisers to be able to support the local community both via fundraising, and also by bringing the community together over the course of the festival.
Come along next year to support our work, over another weekend of ale, fun and fundraising from 18th–20th September 2026!
